I hate writing reviews like this and I wish I could say I enjoyed Raw Desire, because I so enjoyed the rest of the series, but it was MEH from start to finish. It was a momumental effort on my part to chew through until the bitter end and I really had to force myself - in fact I read two other books while I read this one which is unheard of for me as I am normally a one-book-at-a-time gal! I found myself looking at the progress % to gauge when I would finish it and be free to read something else more enjoyable. What I liked was seeing past "couples" and seeing a glimpse of other characters who hopefully will have a book coming up. What I didn't like was Allison - I found her whiny and annoying - and I always felt Ryder was on the outer, even at the end. I never bought into Allison and Ryder, but I thought Dillon and Allison had great chemistry. I also thought the dialogue between the three of them was overly repetitive and boring.
That said I will likely continue with the series as I know there are upcoming characters I want a HEA for and would like to get to know better. Unless you are the type of person to read every book in a series (like I am), I would almost suggest skipping this one. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't necessarily as good as the others.

Raw Desire [Desire Oklahoma 6] Siren Publishing Menage Everlasting edition by Leah Brooke Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is another by Leah Brooke that I could not put down, and this one is longer than most. But the story kept me going and her style of writing is very good. I wouldn't call this one my favorite, but it is a wonderful read that really takes your mind off your mundane problems, which is really the whole point isn't it?
I loved the early Desire books. I thought they blended the hot sex scenes with enough plot to make the story interesting. Now the series has devolved to just sex scene after sex scene with barely any plot to hold it together. This may be my last visit to Desire.
Desire Oklahoma is a great series by Leah Brooke
This book number six in the Desire Oklahoma Series. I am a huge fan of Leah Brooke and this series but even as lengthy as the story was out of all of them it was my least favorite. I guess I'll start by telling you briefly what the story is about. This is the story of Ryder and Dillion and Allison. Allison comes to Desire not only to escape her abusive ex and the town that seems to worship his family but to re-become herself under the semblence of a seminar on learning how to sexual please a man, so you don't have to worry about them going elsewhere. Her ex Danny did a real number on her confidence. She meets Ryder and Dillion and is immediately attracted to them but can't get pass what her ex has done and is still doing to her.
Through a series of things that happen I found it really hard to like Allison's character. She was abused and because of how the ex treated her, instead of doing the opposite she's hostel but at the wrong time. It made me not like how she treats Dillion and Ryder. It should have been about trust building but the story made her into a user. At times, no matter what anyone in town tells her or they show her she refuses to believe them. I can understand that but when you see things whith your own 2 eyes, then what? And even though the sex scenes are hot in their own right I found I didn't care for Allison so much I was just wanting to get through them to finish the book. I also wished that her character spent more time getting closer to the other wives in Desire because the show of support at the end seems kind of out of place.
I liked Dillion and I liked Ryder even more and I wish I liked Allison then I could have loved this story. But I liked well enough to read future books in the series.
Start with book 1 and go from there. with all books, you will find a few typos but the over all story is amazing, each one is with a different character in Desire and with all the personalities the story lines will differ. You will enjoy each of the books in a different way. I can't wait for the rest of the town to get their turn to tell their story. With so many left to tell The Author has many books left to go and I am hoping soon to hear about Ethan & his partner, they have helped everyone else in the town and deserve their HEA also.
I especially like the menage stories of this series. I also enjoy revisiting the characters from the previous stories. But the story I am really looking forward to is the story of Lucas, Caleb and Devlin. This story was enjoyable and I felt for the two week time frame of the story it was believable for Alison to have trust issues with Ryder and Dillon and with the way the town is run. After all, she grew up with the people in her own town and still they all turned against her. Anyway, keep the Desire, Oklahoma stories coming (pun intended) and I'll keep buying and reading them. I recommend this book to anyone who likes the menage city concept.
